Now that you've taken a look around you've probably decided if we're a good fit for each other. If my work speaks to you and you connect with photos that are less about what we look like and more about what it's like to just be you, I would love to work with you!
I WANT A SESSION! NOW WHAT HAPPENS?
BOOK YOUR SESSION
You'll send your session fee to me to reserve your session and we'll set a date. Shortly after, I'll send you a pre-session form to fill out (online) so I can get a feel for who you are, what you like, what's important for you to remember, etc.
Approximately a week or two before your session I'll send you an e-mail (or we can text or chat on the phone if you prefer) and we'll set a time and location for your session to take place. I'll send you a guide to read through and we'll go over some of the info you shared in the pre-session form and plan to do one or a few things you enjoy doing together. This is important and allows me to document your family in a relaxed, honest way.
Every family is unique, that means every session is unique, too. My main goal is for you to have a gallery of meaningful, beautiful, artful images that feel like you and your family. For this to happen, all I need you to do is show me who you are - let your guards down, let the kids be kids, and I'll do the rest. It's really that simple. We'll either do one or a few of the things you mention in your pre-session questionnaire...or we can go completely documentary and I'll just show up and do my thing. You can expect your session to be relaxed with some fun, snuggling, maybe a bit of chaos, perhaps a tear, and a whole lot of laughter and love mixed in.
Most likely, the session is taking place in and around your home. For the majority of the session I'll be observing your connections with one another - the way you stand/sit/hold hands/hug/etc. is always going to trump me trying to pose you in a way that just isn't you. We want your photos to look and feel like you. Sometimes, if needed, I'll give some light direction/silly prompts to get you to forget about the camera for a moment. And if it helps put you at ease, my families say they're pleasantly surprised at how laid-back and stress-free sessions are so you have nothing to worry about! Promise.
Families: Before the picture making begins we'll chat and play with the kids, this typically helps them loosen up and feel comfortable. I'll never ask your child to smile and I ask you to do the same, the reason I ask this is because it's all about capturing genuine expressions and personalities (fake smiles don't equal great photographs!).
AFTER YOUR SESSION.
Around 2 weeks after your session I'll send you an email to let you know your gallery is ready to view. You'll have 3 consecutive days to view the gallery and decide what you want to do with your photos. Most people invest in a collection - this way they have all the images from their gallery for archival purposes and can print as many copies whenever they'd like as well as having a beautiful, tangible piece of their story printed to display in their home. Once the decision making is done you'll send payment and I'll send your order away to my rad professional lab.
All collections include the complete set of digital files from your gallery! Digital files are delivered on a rad & custom engraved wooden usb. Purchasing digital files allows clients the freedom to print unlimited copies as well as have them for archival purposes. I believe in archiving and printing our photographs to leave for future generations, so I've put together collections that include all your digital files from your gallery as well as a tangible, printed piece of your story. All you have to do is decide which collection fits your needs!
RECEIVE YOUR PHOTOS (& OTHER GOOD STUFF!)
You can expect your goods within 3 - 6 weeks (books and wooden boxes take the longest). Once your order arrives, I'll send you a note to let you know your package is ready for pick-up/delivery!
…and now is the time when most of my families are telling me they already want another session! Let's do it again next year!
