All the things about her that challenge me as a parent are the things I hope she'll carry with her as a woman.
. . .
The first image, I don't know why I love it so much. Maybe it's because the way animals make her feel is the same way she makes me feel. Also, it looks like she has a tail and I think she'd be pretty pleased about that. ;)
A few random images from the Summer. I miss the warmth, sunshine, green grass, blossoms, the sound of sprinklers in the neighbourhood, and the freedom of summer days and nights...
A lot of the time people forget to invest in family photos once their kids are grown, you know, like after the kids have grown out of the cute stages of childhood - chubby cheeks, new teeth, missing teeth, sleeping in Mom's arms, and all the childhood wonder that fills their days. I love how it was important to this beautiful Mama to have photographic evidence of this time in their lives before both kids move out and are off on their own making their mark on the world.
Back in July I got to photograph this rad family - they're unapologetically themselves (my kind of people!), they love to laugh, they're warm hearted, and most of all they love each other and it shows.
A few faves...
My little sister. I've never seen her happier than she is right now. She's recently engaged, becoming a blended family & loving little Miss R, and she's going to be a Mom for the first time (my nephew is due in January - eeeeep!!!). I couldn't be more thrilled for her and her little family! Heart swell.
